Kari Clayton: Registrar
Kari is the head secretary/administrative assistant to the Web Academy.
Before accepting this position Kari was a registrar and counseling secretary at The Dallas-Wahtonka High School for nine years. |

Rachel Johnson: Head Secretary
Rachel worked at Arata Creek School in Troutdale, OR. She graduated with a BS in History. In her off hours, Rachel enjoys going to the beach and the mountains, reading, cross stitching, hiking and camping. |

Brian Baker: Counselor eAspire Coordinator
Brian received his master's degree in Counseling Psycology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. After graduating he spent two years in the country of Ecuador as a Peace Corps Volunteer and then worked as a school counselor at Highland Elementary in the Gresham-Barlow School District from 2000 to 2008. Brian loves spending time with his three children and working as a part time musician in the Portland area. |

Jeff Cochran: School Counselor (GED) /Technology Manager
I believe I will never be a finished product. I challenge myself to continuously explore my sense of self, my experiences of privilege, and my lived experiences. I believe in taking time to listen to student stories and through this act of listening creating a culture of respect.
I believe technology should enhance learning and provide all students with access to a greater array of opportunities. I envision utilizing technology that engages students and increases student outcomes.

Denielle joined the web academy in October 2012. Denielle earned her Master's in Counseling at Sacremento State University. She has been a school counselor at both the middle and high school levels. |

Kerensa Brougham: Teacher
Subjects: Middle School Language Arts, Social Studies, and Keyboarding; High School Technology Electives and Personal Finance.
Kerensa earned her Master's in Teaching at the University of Portland, and has taught at Tualatin High School, and at Cesar Chavez K-8 and St. Andrew Nativity School, both in Portland. Prior to becoming a teacher, Kerensa worked in Corporate Communications, primarily in the fields of Scientific Research and High Technology. She is also licensed to teach Math, Science, and Speech Communication. |

Christeen completed her teaching degree at the University of Portland, and has taught at Highland Park Middle School in Beaverton, and Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouer. Christeen is also licensed to teach Social Studies and Language Arts. |

Phyllis Davis: Teacher
Subjects:Visual Arts and Yearbook
Phyllis Davis is a native Oregonian and has lived in the Portland area for the past 17 years. She received her BS in Business from the University of Oregon and worked in management at Macy’s in San Francisco. Later she and her husband, along with their growing family, lived in several locations including California, Florida, Venezuela, Panama, Spain and Toronto, Canada before moving to Portland. Ms. Davis taught as a volunteer art teacher for many years before studying at Marylhurst University and earning a BA in Art. She then completed her Master’s degree in Teaching from Pacific University and has been teaching Art at Springwater Trail High School since 2006. Ms. Davis now teaches part-time at the Web Academy. |

Steven teaches Geography, World History, and US History classes at the Web Academy. Steven worked at Clear Creek Middle School as an educational assistant, substitute taught Social Studies at Astoria High School, and most recently worked as a teacher for the Oregon Youth Authority. |

Tonia Gebhart: Teacher
Subjects: High School Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Astronomy and Geology
Tonia Gebhart joined the Web Academy in August of 2012. Mrs. Gebhart taught high school science at Cleveland High School and credit recovery at Gresham High School. She received her bachelor’s at Concordia University, majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-medical studies. She received her Master’s in Teaching from Concordia as well. Before embarking on her teaching career, Mrs. Gebhart worked in finance and accounting at U.S. Trust and U.S. Bank. Mrs. Gebhart teaches High School Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Astronomy and Geology. |

Jennifer Hathaway: Teacher

Ms Hathaway teaches high school Language Arts and Social Studies classes at Gresham-Barlow Web Academy. Ms Hathaway has a Bachelor or Arts degree from Willamette University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Oregon University, and is working on a Master of Education in Instruction Design from Western Governors University. Ms Hathaway has previously worked as a substitute teacher for North Clackamas School District and Portland Public Schools. |

John Kitchens: Teacher

Mr. Kitchens is a former Air Force officer, program manager, and instructor. Having spent many years in the professional world he has a broad view of applications for math and education in general. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Masters of Science degree in Logistics Management. After finishing his military service he completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and earned his teaching license at George Fox University. His hobbies include: running, racquetball, travel, world events, politics, and sustainability. Most of all, he's interested in learning, and he's always ready for a good discussion or debate. |

Julie Norrander: Teacher
Subjects: Middle School Science, Middle and High School Physical Education, Exploring Physical Fitness Ms. Norrander joined GBWA in September of 2012 after having taught science and math at Estacada High School and Junior High. She received her Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in Business Administration, specializing in marketing. She then completed her Master of Business Administration at Pepperdine University and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Concordia University. Her endorsements include: Integrated Science, Mathematics, Health, CTE in Business Administration, Marketing and Finance and she is currently working on her Physical Education endorsement. In her spare time, Ms. Norrander enjoys spending time in the outdoors, traveling, and hanging out with her family. |
